Our Story

Founded in 1995, the “I Medicei” out as a company firmly established in Tuscany and involved in the diffusion of the tradition of Italian food. The origin of The Medicei dates to the 1970s when the founder, Loris Paoletti, expanded his butcher shop inherited from his father Carlo. Basically, the intuition of Loris Paoletti was to innovate and improve his traditional activity of expert butcher by offering to his customers gourmet products and ready-to-eat high-quality recipes.

The first store in Florence was the beginning of a successful route leading the “I Medicei” to a remarkable expansion. First, the increased consumers’ demand suggested to move to a larger place located in Lastra a Signa, a small town in the Florentine countryside, which is an appropriate site where to start a rapid growth.

Encouraged by the continuous expansion, in 2004 the company moved to a second in Montelupo Fiorentino (Florence), where the “I Medicei” lays the foundation of a solid enterprise, preparing and selling a wide selection of ready-to-eat meals, not only for bars and restaurants, but also for the retail sector.

Then, in 2017, the company further expanded by deciding to proceed Victor in Massa (Massa Carrara), entirely focused on the production of sauces, including the famous Pesto alla Genovese.

Only one year later, in 2018, “I Medicei” launched a new building that was assigned to logistics along with the production of gluten-free recipes, thus demonstrating a special sensitivity towards consumers with specific nutritional needs and a great flexibility in an expanding market.

By the year 2020 another significant goal was achieved, by the acquisition of Magie di Pasta Fresca company in Montecatini Terme (Pistoia). The company’s strategy was to maintain high quality standards, controlling all the raw materials like pasta, from the start right to the end.

The constant growth of The Medicei required the implementation of a new managerial team, which led to the creation of “I MEDICEI GROUP". By advantaging of this new executive, the company has been able to specialize in different food branches, that made the group even more competitive in the market of high-quality food. By such improvements, “I MEDICEI GROUP” was able to face different business challenges, further confirming as a leading group in the ability to put together quality, Italian food tradition and widespread distribution.

THE MEDICEI GROUP is characterized by a strategic vision in the pipeline of food processing, by investing in new technologies and innovative ways of production. Today, this experience allows the company to better control the production chain, improving both the resource management and the control on food quality.
